The looting of Pre-Columbian artifacts from Latin-American archaeological sites

This paper is about artifact looting and its socioeconomic value to Guatemalan huaqueros and their communities. In addition to examining the lives of huaqueros, the author's study hopes to contribute to a broader understanding of the interplay between the survival of Latin America's indigenous populations and the looting, for subsistence, of Pre-Columbian artifacts by examining the previous research on such looting from Latin American archaeological sites.
