The preferences of seventh and eleventh grade students for male or female counselors

The preferences of 335 seventh and eleventh grade students for male or female counselors, and mothers or fathers were studied. The students responded to two fifteen item questionnaires which consisted of questions which are typical of students' personal concerns. The results of this study indicated that female students prefer to discuss their concerns with their mothers and female counselors, and male students prefer male counselors and have no preference for the parent.
